Liga Bergu KLO STA Siri 4: Report

We started with warm-up session at P8 at 4.30pm and depart to KLO around 6.00pm and reach there almost Maghrib. This series was opened to all level of players and no wonder few big guys like Airul, Bobot, Zamzuri, and Muhib (just to name few) has turn up to make the tournament event tougher.

Game started right after maghrib prayer...and after group stage completed 4 of our pairs managed to qualify for 2nd round knockout stage. Azam and Shahrul emerged as group winner while Dr Hisham & Hamir, Azroul & Megat and Fazwan & Shahdan as runner-up. Ezad & Hakimi, Nafixiom & ManGanu and Amin & Joe unable to register a single win thus have to bag earlier.

In 2nd round knockout stage, Dr Hisham & Hamir played against Airul & Masayu and register a comprehensive win 3-0, same goes to Azam & Shahrul, sending Zunnur & Partner home with also 3-0 victory. It was a same story to Megat especially, this time he paired with Azroul but still unable to concur Bobot and Ramzi as they lost by 1-3. Fazwan & Shahdan also lost 0-3 to home pair who eventually become a champion of this series.

Knock Out Draw

There are no other choice for Azam & Shahrul to qualify for Semi Final except has to face team mate i.e Dr Hisham & Hamir in Quarter Final match. At least another pair from KPPj8 is guaranteed a placed together with our champion Hisham & Zulkarnain in Grand Finale.

It was an intense game start from the beginning, since all paddlers knew each other ball game. Dr Hisham & Hamir played their fantastic game during both attacking and defending to knock out Azam & Shahrul 3-1. Azam simply has no answer to his quarter final jinx for the 3rd times continuously in this tournament. Dr Hisham & Hamir has all the answer for what Azam & Shahrul throw to them. At the end, Dr Hisham & Hamir has grabbed the priceless Grand Finale ticket...well done to our beloved President and Hamir...you deserved to win!!!

In Semi Final match, Dr Hisham & Hamir played against KLO pair which send our Fazwan & Razlan home. The game was so tight for the whole 5 sets. In the 1st two set, Dr & Hamir seems lost their touch but managed to come back with memorable win in 3rd set with deuce 20-18.

They continued their momentum to win 4th set easily and level the score 2-2. In deciding 5th set, points are so closed form the beginning and at last tied 9-9 with the serve at their opponent's hand. For 1st serve, Hamir managed to return the ball nicely to setup Dr Hisham attack, but with the bad luck on their side, Dr Hisham's drive spin touched the little top of the net and send the ball out millimeter, score 10-9. For the 2nd serve, it was a shot and simple ball coming but unfortunately Hamir's returned also touch a millimeter top of the net and the game finished by 11-9.

In 3rd placing match, Dr hisham & Hamir still able to maintain their performance despite the semi finals lost. They beat Muhib & Aziz Moristo by 3-1 to grab the 3rd Prize....
