KLO Series : Grand Finale

The final round of KLO Double Championship a.k.a Grand Finale was held on 25 June 2011. KPPj8 was represented by our beloved President Dr Hisham and Hamir and our champion Zulkarnain and Hisham.

Yet, the Grand Finale is the most challenging series as all semi finalists form 4 previous series have to compete each other for the so call the champion of champion.

Zulkarnain and Hisham started the game brilliantly by winning their first 2 matches, but in the 3rd match they eventually lost to their opponent 2-3 although at one point in the deciding set they were in the 9-5 but lost 9-11. At last, 3 pairs from the group had registered 2 wins and 1 lost. The group winner and runner-up have to be decided by the calculation of sets and points. 

Ping Pong always be Ping Pong...Zulkarnain and Hisham had being shown the exit door as they lost by the smallest margin in any tournament...i.e they lost to the runner-up by 1 point....repeat again...by 1 point!!!!

For Dr Hisham and Hamir, it was totaly different story. They started quite slow in their 1st game and then gained their momentum to finish as a group runner up and qualified to Quarter Final. In the QF match, they faced Mustar and Mat Spector. In the first 2 set, both Dr Hisham and Hamir little bit struggle to play especially the return ball from Mat Spector. They did improved their game in the 3rd and 4th set to draw the score 2-2 and forced the match to be played in deciding set. Then, as usual....when the lady luck is not at your side nothing much you can do. At score 9-9 and serve at hand (Dr Hisham), they still unable to overcome the intractable opponent, as Mustar produced the moment of magic with 2 marvellous backhand attacks.
